Spring Meeting by M J Farrell and John Perry
Spring Meeting was written with John Perry who Molly had met in a chance meeting at a Tipperary house-party. John Perry was a working actor in London. They must have hit it off because they went on to co-write Spring Meeting which went on to be one of the hits of the year in 1938.
In style, Spring Meeting is somewhat inline with the typical West End comedies of the day but with Molly’s keen eye for character and her cutting wit and brilliant gift for dialogue Spring Meeting stood out from the crowd. It first played on Shaftesbury Avenue…. soon may it return.
